Geita Co-operative Union Ltd (GCU LTD) is a major cooperative operating in Geita region, with an area of operation in Geita Town, Geita Rural and Nyang’wale district councils. GCU was registered on 16 January 2018 with registration certificate number 5600, under the Co-operatives Act No. 6 of 2013
Members GCU LTD, is made up of a total of 71 AMCOS located in Geita Urban District Councils, 10 AMCOS 10, Geita Rural, AMCOS 42, and Nyang’wale AMCOS 19 with a total membership of about 13247 members. Including 9514 men and 3733 women. GCU LTD deals with cotton crops as the main crop including mixed crops such as lentils, sunflower, rice etc.
